Ruffian It Up @ Fashion Week
In fashion, detail is everything. For hot new design house Ruffian, attention to detail begins with the sketches and illustrations that will ultimately become their collections. For this Prismacolor is proud to be heading to New York Fashion Week with this amazing designer.
Brian Wolk and Claude Morais are the masters behind the masterpieces at Ruffian. The duo began their collaboration in the fall of 2004 with a collection of whimsical neckpieces that has since morphed into a popular line of ready-to-wear with a hip Victorian vibe. The clothes are, quite simply, amazing…and because no detail is too small, the designers trust Prismacolor markers and pencils to bring their visions to life.
Ruffian designers love Prismacolor, and Primsacolor is loving them back by supporting them at New York Fashion Week this year (Saturday, September 7). We’re sending our team of cameras to chronicle Ruffian’s design process and capture the backstage action. Our cameras will also be on the watch for show attendees inspired to create using the exclusive Ruffian coloring book and set of 12 Prismacolor markers they will receive at the show.
We will be letting our Facebook fans in on all kinds of exclusive content from Ruffian and NYFW so be sure to LIKE us here; Prismacolor’s Facebook page and follow #PrismacolorxRuffian on all your favorite social channels! We will light up over the next two weeks with postings of Ruffian illustrations, show videos and other Ruffian Fashion Week news.
“Being at the center of such exemplary design is thrilling,” said Sheryl Rosa, director of marketing for Prismacolor.”Artists love Prismacolor, but when we see our products helping create breakthrough work, we get inspired too. Ruffian is on the watch list in fashion circles; we’re just excited that Prismacolor gets to be part of it all.”
Prismacolor is also sending a member of our own Advisory Council to the show. Steven Broadway, who teaches fashion design at Parsons and The Fashion Institute of Technology, will serve as our “Fashion Week correspondent” grabbing exclusive backstage interviews and more.
